WE HAVE THE ANSWERS
  • Question:

Why a hardware solution better fits the industry

    Answer:
    1. Ease of Integration: Hardware is easier to integrate, as you are not trying to integrate software onto countless pieces of existing modules
    2. Standards: Our SNO™ is not safe and secure because we say so, it is safe and secure because the most stringent safety and security standards say so! You can certify hardware, not detached pieces of software!
    3. No Updates Needed: We do not need to be updated unless the car gets updated. No down-time, no false positives, no problems!
  • Question:

    Why is meeting standards important?

    Answer:

GuardKnox is not just telling you that your car is safe and secure, we are telling you it is safe and secure because we are formally verified and tested to the most stringent standards in the industry. When it comes to safety and security there is no room for errors we are certified to the highest level of security requirement in the industry.

  • Question:

    How is the SNO™ updated?

    Answer:

Our SNO™ does not need regular updating since we do not need any constant communication as we are built off of the CAN matrix of the vehicle. Therefore, only when the OEM updates the CAN or communication matrix of the vehicle does the SNO™ need updating. When the SNO™ sends an update to their ECU, another update in tandem will be sent to our SNO™ in response to the OEM updates to the CAN matrix.

  • Question:

What industries can the GuardKnox technology apply to?

    Answer:

The Hard Lockdown methodology applies to any system with a closed-unit of messages. We specialize in moving platforms like aviation and the automotive industry. While we are currently focused on the automotive industry we have direct applications in:

    • Automotive
    • Smart City
    • Critical Infrastructure
    • Drones
    • Medical Devices
    • Civil Aviation
    • Energy
    • Banking
    • And more!
  • Question:

How does GuardKnox’s solution fit the automotive value chain?

    Answer:

Car manufacturers Instead of worrying about software integration across multiple ECU’s with different suppliers, the GuardKnox solution is a simple hardware installation. You undo the wire harness plug the SNO™ in, reconnect the wire harness and that is it! You are secured! It does not change the manufacturing lifecycle nor does it burden the OEM. Saving both time and money in the manufacturing process.

  • Question:

Is automotive cybersecurity really an issue?

    Answer:

YES! There have been countless incidents of white-hat hackers and even black-hat hackers. This problem will not go away and as we reach the high layers of connectivity, these problems will continue to increase. This is not just someone simply running your car into a ditch, ransomware is a major concern as someone could hold an entire fleet of trucks for ransom. This is not a problem which we can afford to be reactive about.

  • Question:

    How is GuardKnox security different

    Answer:

GuardKnox technology is adapted from the same technology currently deployed in Israeli defense aviation. Our approach was specifically developed for moving platforms and is not derived from the IT world. We are a hardware-based approach with physical separation between (safety-critical?) networks. We offer the market a holistic approach to automotive cybersecurity with a complete ECU solution, with the ability to scale. The GuardKnox solution is the foundational cybersecurity platform for future levels of connectivity and customization of our vehicles.

  • Question:

What exactly does the GuardKnox solution protect against?

    Answer:

The GuardKnox solution protects against any threat or incident to the car. Any message which is not to OEM specifications for the vehicle will be blocked. The SNO’s™ is designed as a cybersecurity solution that ensures safety. Any threat which compromises the safety of the vehicle in any way will be stopped.

  • Question:

Why are several products needed to secure a car?

    Answer:

GuardKnox offers security in depth. Our central SNO™ secures the vehicle by locking down inter-network communication. Whereas our local solution is protecting our externally connected ECU’s and locks down and secures all external communication. The GuardKnox approach is to secure the most vulnerable and safety critical systems first.

  • Question:

Does GuardKnox secure only in-vehicle communication or also V2X?

    Answer:

The GuardKnox solution is completely scalable. Specifically, we secure the communication coming in and out of the vehicle and encrypt necessary data.
